You Don't Have To Own It

I like to think of critical thoughts, negative comments, or, as the Bible calls them "undeserved curses" as those lost and lonely suitcases at the airport, circling around and around on those black, floppy conveyor belts.

You see, no matter how many times it goes around again, and you see it...

You don't have to pick it up.

You don't have to own it.

You can walk away.

You don't have to take it home with you.

You don't have to carry that burden.

Even if you see it go around on that conveyor belt a thousand times, you do not have to pick it up.

It is not yours.

Why?

Because you are who GOD says you are.

You are spoken for.

You are His.

Will you reflect upon this one with me today, dear friend?

Will you take a moment to pause before you head straight for that conveyor belt and pick up that old beat-up suitcase when someone says a word of criticism over you, or when you hear your inner critic; those thoughts that tell you that you are other, less than, unworthy, unloved?

You can watch that suitcase come.

And you can watch it go right.on.by.

It doesn't define you.

It's not yours, and never will be.

"Like a fluttering sparrow or a darting swallow, an undeserved curse does not come to rest."  Proverbs 26:2
