Best Year Ever

This was a Christmas card sent out by a friend of mine.

Her 7 year old son was diagnosed with leukemia earlier this year and by summer, had undergone a total bone marrow transplant.

Under these circumstances, how can a family truthfully state in their card that this was the "BEST YEAR EVER?"

Because of God.

Here is my friend's take on it, in her own words...

Because He's good. Because He fought for us! Because He's made known His name, His wonders, and His miracles to the world! Because we are together. All praise to our Great God.

That is the gospel of grace, dear friend.

That is the real deal.

Faith in action, in the messy dealings of life, unshaken and holding fast to God's truth.

Living by faith, not sight.

And receiving every ounce of joy that can be found in the midst of difficult trials (James 1:2-4).

Love you, girl, and the example you set.  You've just made my year, too.

  1. Amen to this, her family's faith has nurtured mine as I watched them endure this year. We are so blessed to know them.
