This is a beautiful song, and I know more than just a few of us need to hear this today.
It reminds us that we are more than our feelings.
It helps us to see that we are more than the sum total of our strengths and weaknesses, victories and sinful moments.
Understanding who I am in Christ is something I still struggle with...and probably always will, this side of heaven. Because, when it boils down to it, living by faith and not by sight just never gets any easier I find.
It's definitely not a topic that is new here on the blog: I've written about it here before...okay, more than once actually.
So, today I'd like these beautiful song lyrics by Lauren Daigle to just speak for themselves.
Allow them to wash over you in beautiful poetic form, and I hope you will YouTube it to hear the song and the words together, and meditate upon it today, dear friend.
So, here are the lyrics to "You Say." May it encourage you today, dear friend, in whatever you are facing, and give you strength to do warfare against whatever lies the Enemy is whispering in your ear right now.
"I keep fighting voices in my mind that say I’m not enoughEvery single lie that tells me I will never measure upAm I more than just the sum of every high and every low?Remind me once again just who I am, because I need to knowYou say I am loved when I can’t feel a thingYou say I am strong when I think I am weakYou say I am held when I am falling shortWhen I don’t belong, oh You say that I am YoursAnd I believe, oh I believeWhat You say of meI believeThe only thing that matters now is everything You think of meIn You I find my worth, in You I find my identity,You say I am loved when I can’t feel a thingYou say I am strong when I think I am weakAnd You say I am held when I am falling shortWhen I don’t belong, oh You say that I am YoursAnd I believe, oh I believeWhat You say of meI believeTaking all I have and now I'm laying it at Your feetYou have every failure God, and You'll have every victory,You say I am loved when I can’t feel a thingYou say I am strong when I think I am weakYou say I am held when I am falling shortWhen I don’t belong, oh You say that I am YoursAnd I believe, oh I believeWhat You say of meI believe"
